TPDC starts the pilot of external observation component

National Center for Teacher Professional Development launches the pilot of external observation component. By the end of 2017, more than 100 senior teachers in Imereti and Shida Kartli schools, who have become involved in the pilot, will have been observed.

In January 2018, after the assessment of the piloting results, external observations will be introduced in all schools across Georgia.

Any teachers who have obtained 13 credit points within the Teachers Pre-Service, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme and are subject to a mandatory component of external observation, are eligible to the external observation.

Manana Ratiani, the Deputy Director of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development along with the experts of the Center met with senior teachers, school principals and resource center officials registered in the Imereti region for the purpose of informing them about the piloting of the external observation.

At the meeting, the school community received detailed information about the external observation procedures as well as the assessment criteria and other important issues.
