ICT Training for trainers of mathematics

Within the framework of the School Teacher and School Director Professional Development Project of the Millennium Challenge Account - Georgia, which is implemented by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, math trainers involved in the project have been trained in the "Use of Information and Communication Technology in Teaching Mathematics".

The aim of the training is to familiarize trainers with the basic information-communication technologies that are integrated into the math module. Specifically, trainers will learn about the following programs / resources: Virtual Learning Environment - Edmodo, Khan Academy training resources, Math Computer Program - GeoGebra and Online Graphic Calculator - Desmos. The experience gained at the trainings will help participants to use technologies effectively in the training process.

The training was conducted for two groups of the trainers. The total of 36 participants have been trained, who have already taken the trainer training- “Active teaching of mathematics”. These trainers will, according to the same training module, train more than 1900 math teachers from 20 August to 12 September.

The opportunity of professional development will be given to more than 7000 VIII-XII grade teachers of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography and English Language, who have already taken general professional skills modules in 2016-2017 within the Teacher and School Director Professional Development Project.

The Project “Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia” is funded by MCC and is implemented by the LEPL Teacher Professional Development Center, with the expert support of the international consulting company IREX and cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
