"National Teacher Prize" to be introduced in Georgia

With the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, first time in Georgia, the "National Teacher Prize" will be introduced. To this end, the Coalition "Education for All - Georgia", the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Teacher Professional Development have signed the Memorandum of Cooperation.

The "National Teacher Prize" is a part of the global campaign The Global Teacher Prize aimed at identifying successful teachers, introducing them to public and promoting the profession by awarding winners the prizes that will encourage all teachers of the world to excel.

According to the Memorandum, the parties agree that recognition of teachers and their contribution, awarding and introducing them to public is important for increasing the prestige of the teacher's profession and attracting more dignified persons to the profession. For this purpose, under the initiative of the Coalition "Education for All -Georgia" and the partnership with the National Center for Teacher Professional Development (TPDC), the preparatory works for the National Teacher Prize will be held. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has joined and supported the initiative.
