Competition for Georgian language distance pilot school teachers

National Center for Teacher Professional Development has announced a competition for Georgian language distance pilot school teachers. The Center, within the Information and Communication Training Program, has developed the sub-program "Georgian language distance pilot school" under which the selected teachers will conduct pilot lessons for learners living abroad.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, in cooperation with the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for the Diaspora issues, deemed necessary to build a foundation for the distance learning program. The program will operate with the latest didactic principles and by means of the information -communication technologies will be accessible for Georgian students living abroad. This will promote the spread of the Georgian language and culture and retain the national identity for young generation living abroad.

Selection Criteria:

Georgian as a second language, or Georgian as the native language practicing teachers (preference will be given to public school teachers).

Teachers must be able to use modern information and communication technologies (preference will be given to LEPL Teacher Professional Center ICT Training Program certificate holders).

Teachers must be able to speak the pilot group students’ language (English) at conversational level.
