Program "Teach for Georgia" announces a competition for consultant-teachers

National Center for Teacher Professional Development has announced a competition to select consultant-teachers in the scope of the program “Teach for Georgia”.

The competition shall select 14 specialists of the subjects defined in the National Curriculum. The selected candidates will be allocated to Adjara, Guria, Imereti, Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta, Rach-Lechkhumi, Samegrelo –Zemo Svaneti, Kvemo Kartli and Shida Kartli public schools.

The selected consultant-teachers will be obligated to teach respective subjects defined in the National Curriculum, promote informal learning, which includes setting up school subject circles, provision of additional classes, implementation of cognitive and educational projects and various activities. In addition, a consultant-teachers must take care of their own as well as local teachers' professional development.

Applicants shall have at least a bachelor's degree and a teacher’s certificate in a relevant subject or a document certifying the completion of 60-credit teacher's education training course. Moreover, the competition is open for teachers who have passed a subject test and have been obtained a teacher’s qualification.

In case of employment at secondary schools of ethnic minority regions, it is mandatory the program participant to be fluent in Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani languages.

The program "Teach for Georgia" aims to promote learning process by attracting qualified staff and provide equal opportunities of education in all schools across Georgia.
