National Center for Teacher Professional Development Representatives meet the Ministry of Education and Science Partner International Organizations

Lia Gigauri-Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Science, Giorgi Machabeli-Director and Irine  Abuladze-Deputy Director, National Center for Teacher Professional Development held a meeting with partner international organizations. The issues of collaborative perspectives in the process of “Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme” implementation was raised at the meeting.

One of the vital items on meeting agenda was credits accumulation  and  professional development program and qualification  advancement activities (carried out by international organizations) recognition  within “Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme” (notice: according to “Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme” document (certified by the Georgian Government in February, 2015) , Minister  of Education and Science annually issues a legislative act upon the “Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme”  enactment. The legislative act defines the list of projects, which entitles teachers accumulation of certain amount of credits).

According to the Deputy Minister, Lia Gagauri’s statement, it’s vital to achieve common set goals and maximal engagement of stakeholders in “Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme” implementation process through information exchange and collaboration. This way credit accumulation by teachers will be facilitated through diverse activities and will enable the partner organizations to further develop at teacher professional development market.

As Giorgi Machabeli TPDC Director declared, the workshops are held on constant basis and development of unified teacher professional development system is envisioned.

National Center for Teacher Professional Development is planning meetings with other state or international organizations offering professional development programs with the aim of providing more effective and diverse professional development services to teachers.
