International Expert evaluates the Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme Implementation

World Bank expert Mark Atkinson finalized the expertise of “Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement Scheme” instruments. The expert had a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Tamar Sanikidze providing her with the workshop summaries. According to Atkinson the professional development scheme provides opportunities for many positive changes in the teaching process.

“The developed of pilot instruments can play a vital role in advancing teacher professional development and teaching processes. All of which will assist teachers in better lesson planning, interactive methods development and high teaching standards achievement, as a result of which Georgian students will become more competitive around the world”- declared Atkinson

As the Minister has stated Mr. Atkinson had actively been involved in the initial scheme concept development process and thus such the positive evaluations from an expert is a guarantee for achieving set goals. It’s vital that workshops on professional development scheme continue with further details development in mind.

Education Technologies and Education Policy Expert Mark Atkinson arrived in Georgia on June 15 and collaborated with the center expert-consultants on basic scheme instruments development for a week.

The local and international specialists will further oversee the scheme implementation and results achievement processes in 2015-2016 academic year for successful launching of the professional development scheme.
