National Center for Teacher Professional Development holds workshops with foreign counterparts

Georgia’s hosting a 3 day meeting within the European Council program “Pestalozzi”. The workshop has been organized by TPDC from April 28-30, 16 international and European Council trainers and 20 Georgian teachers participate in the workshop.

The meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister - Ketevan Natriashvili, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and National Center for Teacher Professional Development Director - Giorgi Machebeli. The teacher professional development and career advancement scheme has been on workshop agenda together with continuous professional development and teacher individual needs identification issues. The scheme will be enacted in schools from the new academic year.

Program “Pestalozzi” is education professionals training program. The program aims at education promotion through offering various continuous professional development opportunities to teachers, trainers and education professionals.

Georgian teachers can collaborate with European colleagues and education professionalsand devise various educational programs within the “Pestalozzi” program. The major aspects of the program trainings and workshops are concerned with developing civic society at schools, teaching human rights building democratic society.
