Registration has Started for the Program "Teach for Georgia"

Teachers’ Professional Development Center has started registration for the program “Teach for Georgia”. The head of the Center Gia Mamulashvili made an announcement about it. According to him, candidates should register on tpdc.ge from 23 May to 23 June. Any person who is the specialist  of any subject included in the national curriculum with higher education degree can participate in the contest.  

The program participants can:

  • Get employed in mountainous region schools;
  •  Get surplus to salaries
  •  Finance their masters courses;
  • Use health insurance;
  •  Gain professional experience;
  •  Get involved in educational trainings and conferences;

 

It’s worth noting that, since 2013 program participants’ salaries increased by 200 GEL. The contest is announces for teachers of following subjects: Georgian Language and Literature, Primary education, History, Geography, Russian language, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics.

 

The main goal of the program is to improve the quality of teaching and learning in high need areas, especially in high-mountainous regions since these are the ones most threatened by the absence of qualified and motivated teaching staff.
