A new group of English-speaking, French-speaking and German-speaking volunteer teachers has joined the TPDC program "Teach and Learn with Georgia".

Upon the arrival in Georgia, volunteer teachers will be trained in intercultural communication and general methodology, after which they will be distributed to public schools of different regions of Georgia.

It is noteworthy that for the first time this year volunteer teachers will be distributed in vocational institutions and will teach foreign languages to teachers of different subjects.

The program has undergone positive amendments for the last two years. The criteria for selection of volunteer teachers have been improved. In the selection process, preference is given to the candidates who have experience of working in the field of education. Moreover, contract terms of volunteers have also extended: volunteers will spend a full academic year in schools, which will significantly improve the quality of language teaching.

Within the framework of the project "Teach and Learn with Georgia", several groups of foreign volunteer teachers visit Georgia each year. Volunteer teachers live in host families and are employed in public schools of Georgia, where they take active part in school and community life in cooperation with local language teachers and other members of the community. Together with foreign colleagues, local foreign language teachers increase their language competence, find and process additional materials based on learner needs, learn and put in practice modern language teaching methods.
