George Machabeli, the Director of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development opened a teacher training-methodology conference "Successful educational practices for development of media literacy, environmental literacy and semiotic competences".

The event was initiated with the support of Ilia State University (ISU) School of Education and National Center for Teacher Professional Development and the European School.

Approximately 30 teachers from different schools of Georgia presented their reports to the conference. The subject matter of the speakers’ reports was mainly linked to the importance of cross competencies within the learning process and literacy skills development among students.
