press- conference was organized on “The Teacher Induction, Professional
Development and Career Advancement Scheme” enactment in National Center for
Teacher Professional Development.
National
Center for Teacher Professional Development Director, Giorgi Machabeli,
informed the media representatives about the implemented and planned activities
within “The Teacher Induction, Professional Development and Career Advancement
Scheme”.
“
“Teacher Induction, Professional
Development and Career Advancement Scheme” document clearly states the set goals,
nevertheless we tried to facilitate the scheme involvement procedures for
teachers and school principals at every stage of scheme enactment. School
principals have been provided with consultations throughout the country; Scheme
Guideline has been developed in electronic and hard copy versions; Effective
feedback mechanisms have been developed, hot-line and social networks guarantee
covering all the posed questions. Apart from this, special video instruction
has developed giving instructions to teachers on status recognition and maintenance rules”

As TPDC representatives have declared information
on teacher exam results, education and tenure have been reflected in eSchool already, based on what teachers will
be assigned to various scheme categories and will acquire status
recognition certificate before the end of the month. After
registration in the system, each teacher
will receive a user
name and password for scheme registration activation and for working in the system.
After
teacher assignment to various scheme categories, TPDC will launch a series of
trainings for teachers.
“Each teacher who has
successfully passed the subject exam, will have a chance to attend professional
development course, granting them 5 credits; Facilitators will attend special
trainings to assist their colleagues’ in successful realization of scheme
activities.; Trainings preparing for
self-evaluations will be carried out assisting the teachers in filling in the
self-evaluation questionnaire with maximum objectivity” was stated at the
conference.
