Lia Gigauri- Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Giorgi Machabeli-Director, National Center for Teacher Professional Development announced the launching of 5 day training course on Preschool program training.

The preschool teachers and Methodists will discuss the following issues within the 5 days: game role in children learning and development process, the preschool program agenda, state preschool standards, themes given in preschool teacher manual, major activities in preschool groups, preschool group physical environment and resources, making observations and keeping records, informal evaluation, child portfolio, collaboration with parents, planning the working day, week.

The preschool teacher trainings aim at assisting the nursery school teachers in successful planning and realization of children upbringing based on the preschool state standards, preschool teacher manual and collection of activities.

164 Methodists and preschool teachers will attend the first cycle of trainings offered by TPDC.

The preschool program training module has been developed with the UNICEF technical support and expert participation.

The training module is based on preschool state standards, preschool teacher manual and collection of activities.
