A
two day seminar: “Teacher -a guide to Europe” has been launched for teachers.
The aim of the seminar is providing teachers with the information on European
and Euro- Atlantic integration processes and their engagement in the process.
The
State Minister of Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia -David Bakradze,
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Tamar Sanikidze and Director of
Information Center on NATO and EU, Elene Gotsadze, opened the first day of the
seminar.
Boris
Iaroshevich, Deputy Head of European Union delegation to Georgia and Latvian
Ambassador to Georgia, Elita Gavele spoke
about the importance and perspectives of Georgian integration in European
Union. The teachers were also introduced to the opportunities offered to them
by the European projects.
National
Center for Teacher professional Development announced registration for the seminar
in February, 2015. Total of 100 Geography, History and Civic Education teachers
have been selected for participation from Tbilisi and regions of Georgia.
The
project is a joint venture of National
Center for Teacher professional Development and the Information Center on NATO and EU. The project
is supported by: the State Ministry of
Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia, European Union Delegation on integrating
and Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
