A special reception dedicated to International Teachers’ day was held
at the National Center for Teachers’ Professional Development. The deputy
minister of Science and Education Lia Gigauri congratulated teachers from
Tbilisi as well as the regional Georgia on the professional day and awarded
them with special presents.
Lia Gigauri opened a new lab which offers perfect collaborative, IST-equipped
working space for acting teachers and education experts.
The lab makes it possible:
- To conduct individual as well as group works, where teachers,
university representatives or education experts will be able to conduct
innovative project planning works and carry them out;
- To create digital interactive teaching resources using visual studio
installed in the lab;
- To introduce and share best examples and innovations to teachers.
The event also hosted the presentation of teachers’ professional
development practical guidebook which was prepared by the Center experts as
well as the experts of elementary schools of Georgia. The guide book will help
teachers to determine their own professional needs and help to develop them.
In the scope of the special reception, the exhibition if Sopo
Tatrishvili and Tamar Bakradze was held.
The event was attended by 120 teachers from Tbilisi and regions as
well as the representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education and
international organizations.
