The Third Teacher Regional Conference Organized at the National Center for Teacher Professional Development

The Third Teacher Regional Conference “The Best Teacher Practice at Schools” was organized at the National Center for Teacher Professional Development. The conference was opened by Giorgi Machebeli-Director, National Center for Teacher Professional Development and Lia Gigauri- Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Science in Georgia. 150 public and private school principals attended the event.

64 various subject teachers presented papers at the conference. The paper subjects varied from : Non-formal education for enhancing civil competencies; Teaching reading based on individual approach, boosting student motivation, and working with students with autism, war and human values, ecology of atmosphere, various subject teaching methods

 

The TPDC representatives presented papers on: Democratic cultural competencies; Importance of education in media-literacy; Inclusive education and continuous professional development.

The contest for conference participation was announced in October, 2015. TPDC subject consultants selected 52 best papers out of 200 submitted papers.
