A Training held in the Tbilisi Metro Station for Blind and Visually Impaired Student Teachers

National Center for Teacher Professional Development offered trainings on“Mobility and Orientation in Space for Blind and Visually Impaired Student Teachers” within the “Implementing Inclusive Education in Professional Education“ project. The trainings were held at public transportation and an airport .

The trainings target audience are teachers, parents and professionals working with visually impaired people. The trainings will teach techniques for mobility and independent movement for visually impaired people.

After the pilot, the trainings will be officially approved and any teacher or interested candidate can attend the trainings from 2016. The trainings are held within the Norwegian project “Implementing Inclusive Education in Professional Education“ and it’s aim are equipping the blind and visually challenged people with independent life skills.

The second and third level of the training-modules are envisioned to be developed from 2016, giving opportunities to specialist to advance their knowledge further in this direction
