National Center for Teacher Professional Development Announces Contest for Teacher Assistants within the Program “ Georgian Language for Future Success”

National Center for Teacher Professional Development announced a contest for Georgian Language Teachers Assistants-50 vacancies; History Teachers Assistants-10 vacancies; Geography Teachers Assistants- 10 vacancies; Assistant Teachers (Ethic Minority Representatives, who obtained a BA degree in 2015 and have a good command of Georgian Language)-10 vacancies;

BA degree issued by an accredited High Education Institution and certificate confirming the applicant’s participation in Georgian Language training program are required for Assistant Teachers (Ethic Minority Representatives, who obtained a BA degree in 2015 and have a good command of Georgian Language)

As for the other vacancies, either a degree in the relative filed is required, or the candidate must meet one of the criteria mentioned below:

· Has at least 30 credits of subject teaching (pedagogy) obtained through free credits;

· Has at least 2 years continuous teaching experience of the relative subject for the last 5 years;

· Has passed certification exam in the relative subject;

The contest finalists will be distributed in the non-Georgian schools of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Lower Kartli and Kakheti regions.

The functions of the Teacher Assistants will be assisting teachers of non-Georgian schools in planning and delivering Georgian and subject ingenerated lessons; Supporting non-formal education and participating in various TPDC activities.

In case of successfully participating in the program for 2 academic years, program participates will be awarded with state grants financing their studies at MA programs in subject directions provided by the National Curriculum at the accredited Universities.

“Georgian Language for Future Success” is one of the successful programs offering professional development opportunities to Georgian Language and Social Sciences teachers in the densely populated ethnic minority regions; Promoting ethnic, inter-cultural and social contacts, and ethnic minority population successful integration.
