The
Fourth Educational Technology Conference
organized by TPDC has been opened. The Conference was opened by Lia Gigauri,
Deputy Minister of Education and Sciences of Georgia and Giorgi Machabeli, TPDC
Director.
The
conference is aimed at informing interested parties of modern trends in educational
technology, sharing and introducing the best practices and experience about the
use of technology in the educational process to teachers, experts, university
representatives and organizations working in the field of educational
technology.
The main
topic of the conference is distant and online learning. Besides, there are
other thematic directions: using technologies in assessment; electronic
instruments / resources; differentiated teaching; design / planning of school
relevant to the digital nation; simulations; teaching design and delivery
forms; literacy in the digital era; mobile learning; professional development;
programming; standards and multimedia resources.
The
conference has 250 participants, including teachers, field experts and
trainers, as well as representatives of schools, information and communication technology
companies, international organizations and academic circles.
The
sponsors and supporters of the conference are Liberty Bank, Microsoft Georgia and itechnic, which will award the authors of the best reports at the
end of the two-day conference.
Considering
the past years' experience and forecasts of the conference organizers, the
Conference will promote the development and elaboration of new strategies for the
use of technology in teaching process by educational institutions.
