For introduction and sharing Teacher
Professional Development Policy, the National Center for Teacher Professional
Development was visited by the Afghan delegation. The Center authorities
introduced to the Afghan delegation Teachers Induction, Professional
Development and Career Advancement scheme, functions and activities.
During the visit, the delegation
members had meetings with the officials of the Ministry of Education and
Science of Georgia and the National Assessment and Examination Center. Also,
they visited several schools that are actively involved in Georgia’s Primary
Education Project (G-PriEd) and learned about how innovative methods are
implemented to improve reading skills and math results of students.
The representatives of the Georgian
Primary Education Project (G-PriEd) gave the guests detailed information about the
activities developed and implemented by G-PriEd for the promotion of innovative teaching, and
shared the information about the positive outcomes and challenges identified
during the pilot process.
15-member delegation, which includes
representatives of the Afghan Ministry of Education and the representatives of
the US Agency for International Development (USAID) funded education project from
Afghanistan, arrived in Georgia on April 2.
