National Center for
Teacher Professional Development (TPDC)
held a presentation on Program “Georgian Language for Future Success“ to
senior ethnic minority students, involved in the Georgian training programs.

introduced program goals and benefits to students.
The program goals are advancing
quality of teaching subjects provided by the National Curriculum at the schools inhibited with ethnic
minorities; Offering professional development opportunities to Georgian
Language and Social Sciences teachers in the densely populated ethnic minority
regions; Promoting ethnic, inter-cultural and social contacts, and ethnic
minority population successful integration.
Interested candidates
having BA degree and possessing the knowledge of Georgian Language can apply for the program
and deliver lessons in the ethnic minority regions alongside the local
teachers, with the assisting teacher status.
The program
participants get monthly payment during the program period and state MA grant
upon the program completion.
Contest for assisting teachers
will be announced shortly. 600 participants have been involved in the program
so far.
The meeting was attended
by the Tbilisi State University, Georgian Technical University, Sokhumi State
University, Gori State University, Ilia University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University
and Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State
University students.
