Presentation on “European Profiling Grid for Teachers of Foreign
Languages” was held in the National Center for Teacher Professional
Development.
The event was attended by Lia Gigauri- Deputy Minister, Ministry of
Education and Science of Georgia; Giorgi Machabeli-Director, National Center for Teacher Professional Development
and representatives of the French Institute in Georgia, British
Councils and Goethe Institute.
European Profiling Grid aims at encouraging the
professional development of foreign language teachers and improving the quality
and efficiency of foreign language lessons, despite the target language.
The teachers of foreign languages will be given a
chance to better identify their professional development needs and use European
Profiling Grid as an instrument for developing their own as well as colleagues’
pedagogical competencies.
As
a result of collaboration between the National
Center for Teacher Professional Development and Goethe Institute, the EPG has
been translated in Georgian, now available for all teachers and trainers.
