their activities was shown at the solemn reception.
The program “Teach for Georgia” aims at improving
teaching quality in the regional Georgia where there is lack of qualified

years with the purpose of enhancing teaching quality. The program has been
improved and meets the relevant requirements.
In the scope of the renewed program implemented
in 2014:
The geographical area has been enlarged –
starting from 2014 the program covers not only schools of mountainous and
distant regions, but also all the schools where the lack of qualified staff was
identified.
Teachers’ salaries have been increased – teachers
get hourly wages as well as a surplus amount of which is determined depending
on the distance a teacher has to travel from the registration address; the
surplus amounts to 1000 GEL.
50 per cent of the participant teachers acquire a
certificate which is also a novelty. Since 2014 the owner of the certificate is
on a privileged position at the recruiting stage.
During 2013-2014 academic years 146 consultant
teachers were involved in the program who worked at the schools of various
regions. 114 of the teachers are still going to participate in the program. The
rest of the participants are still involved in the program with the purpose to
continue their studies to acquire Master’s Degree. In the scope of the program the
